From Salvation to Sanctification

This book begins with God, the Creator of the world and all things that are in it. In His infinite wisdom, He created everything humankind would need before He created the first man and then woman. In all of His creations, He made no mistakes. When He created man and woman, He created them in his own image which made them perfect and placed them in a perfect environment. Everything changed when they sinned against God

God created the first people to be freewill agents. Among other attributes, they were able to think for themselves, they had the ability to reason and they were creative. Although God wanted them to obey His commands, He would not force them to do so. They had the choice to obey or disobey God. Their choice to disobey Him allowed sin to invade their perfect lives and they became sinners. As a result of their sin, all persons since them are born in sin.

Dressed for Church on Sunday Morning

Attending church or some other place of worship is very important in the life of a Christian and is also what God expects of believers. And so on Sunday morning all over the world, people get dressed to attend church or some other place of worship. According to their choices as well as what they can afford, some come “all dressed up,” some come “dressed down” and some come “ as they are.” This is to say, the outward appearance of a person is no indicator as how spiritual he or she might be because God looks at the heart of the person.

In Dressed for Church on Sunday Morning by Zadia Tyson, growing up in the South in the forties and fifties, the author always believed in attending church each Sunday wearing only the finest items of clothing. However, when she began teaching at a local Sunday school, she quickly realized that the church was a place to nurture your relationship with God and Jesus Christ and your outward appearance was of secondary importance. Discover why it is more important that you are clothed in compassion, kindness, humility, and love, not finery. The book offers guidance to truly experience the presence of God, and to live a life that is authentic to your faith. By understanding the origins of the church and the moral traits you must possess to bring you closer to God, you will gain a clear vision of your spiritual path. Transform your faith, spirituality and relationship with God and become a Christian that worships from the heart.

Church Worker Teaches about Eternal Life through Book. Baptist woman received calling from God after reflecting over simple backyard chore.

The book From Salvation to Sanctification; Then Eternal Life is her response to the religious calling God gave to her. To exhort fellow believers to shun sin and accept Christ in their life is a mission she takes seriously. Her books aims to introduce believers the basic teachings on God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, sin and salvation, sanctification, and eternal life. Through the use of Scripture, Tyson delivers her catechism in simple language, thus making her book a wonderful resource for youth Sunday class, though she teaches Sunday class for adults. Tyson summarizes the faith for lay believers who want a reader-friendly introduction to eternal life.

Dressed for Church on Sunday Morning by Zadia Tyson takes a refreshing, unique look at faith and will inspire you to take another look at the teachings of the Bible. The guide is full of passages from the Bible that reinforce the message that your attendance in church is just a small part of being a true Christian. I loved the section on worship and prayer; it was so uplifting. I also appreciated how the author cuts through all the finery and gets straight into the core beliefs and actions a Christian must possess. After reading this book, I came to the conclusion that many people who believe they are Christians are not acting in accordance with what God expects. I agree totally that a person’s outward appearance has no spiritual value. But it is also full of encouraging words to people who have lost their faith to establish a new relationship with God and Jesus Christ. A relationship that is solid, meaningful, and nurturing. The acronym of BIBLE – ‘basic instructions before leaving earth’ – was a perfect summary. I loved this in-depth no-nonsense guide because it advocates for Christians to be encouraging, non-judgmental to others, kind, compassionate, and forgiving. I chose this quote from the book as it sums up the essence of the book perfectly: “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me; they worship me in vain.” (Matthew 15:8-9a)

The adage “One thing leads to another” holds true for Zadia Brown Tyson, a devout Baptist church worker in the Sunshine State. While removing weeds in her backyard in preparation for a family reunion, she could not help but notice the grass and the weeds continue to grow together. Then one day, she received a message or revelation from God on the impact of sin in the life of a Christian. As she continued to pull the weeds in her yard, God spoke to her again, this time handing her a mission.
